President Ranya Kelly
I am honored to volunteer many hours a week helping Ranya do what God has called her to do for the last twenty years. It was over twenty years ago that Ranya Kelly was behind a large shoe store looking for an empty box to send some things in the mail when she discovered that this large shoe chain had discarded thousands of pairs of shoes at the end of the season, they sprayed them with paint and just threw them away. Ranya was upset to think that there are so many needy families that could use those shoes, with a fire in her heart she made some calls and together with a church found homes for those shoes. Ranya began to wonder what else and who else just threw things away and started going to the big businesses and discovered that they also just threw things away, things like furniture, household goods, clothes and much more, so Ranya became a dumpster diver as we joke!
Twenty years later she does not have to go through the dumpsters to get the donations any longer, the large companies donate the items. Ranya spends 8-10 hours a day picking up items from large chains. Then she finds families in need and meets those needs.
Ranya runs the Redistribution Center with a handful of volunteers and community help. I first met Ranya through my husband and the fire department.
Ranya needed assistance loading a truck for disaster relief and I tagged along with my husband. That was five years ago! I pick up weekly food donations for the food bank and help Ranya several times a week. It is amazing how many people need help it is even more amazing what a difference we can make in their lives taking the time do so. My life has never been the same!
I am amazed at the work that this wonderful woman does everyday. She is so full of passion and fire to help others and she makes such a positive impact in the lives of others!
One of the dearest to our hearts is to provide assistance to our MILITARY Families. Our soldiers put their lives on the line for us and many are coming home wounded and finding themselves in need for many different reasons. Many of us volunteers including Ranya have children serving our country and some of the volunteers are veterans.
Below is a presentation of just some of the things we have done, helping the community with food, household items, responding to disasters such as Katrina, the Colorado tornado victims and families who have lost everything to fires and so much more. Helping in our community with our local food bank and much more.
Thank you to all of our community volunteers who help with loading and unloading trucks, food drives, fundraisers and donations.
If you would like to volunteer your time and or know of someone who needs some assistance please do not hesitate to email me tinakulp@lifedesignsrealestate.com
We are called to be servants! God Bless!
